Science is FINALLY CATCHING UP WITH US!

Intense bursts of exercise may be as good for the heart as longer, moderate-intensity training. (Lynn L. Walters for The New York Times)

Short bursts of exercise can benefit heart health just as much as tedious endurance training, a new study suggests.

The research, published in the American Journal of Physiology — Regulatory, Integrative and Comparative Physiology, is good news for time-strapped exercisers. It supports the notion that people who engage in brief, high-intensity forms of exercise reap the same cardiovascular health benefits as those who exercise at moderate intensity for a longer period of time.

165-matching my PR. Congrats to Jo who could've gone higher, and to Colin who was on fire this morning, spotting two groups while getting what must've been a PR. I won't even mention Stewart or Dave who added 50 pounds to their previous PRs.... it was a great morning at CFB!

I'm now officially converted to the Low Bar Back Squat. I was not a believer at first, but the end of today, I felt much stronger on the back squat. Lifted 315 today, which matches my old (High Bar) Back Squat PR. many thanks to all for the encouragement, and to Stewart, David and Justin for the spot when I attempted 335...

195 (PR), and it should have been more. Next time, it will be. Thanks to Jim and Dave K. who put up with my constantly taking weights off the bar prior to my attempts.

Indeed, it was a great morning at CFB. We're all getting there.

285 pr by 50. Finally trusting the low back squat.

While watching Colin cruise through 300, David, Justin and I wanted to go higher...maybe next time. Good work by all this morning.

hi guys, I'm in santa monica working out with leo this week. He looks awesome and is even more hardcore than before. We did super sized cindy today 10 pullups, 20 pushups, 30 squats. I did 4 rounds leo did 9. It's cool to work out at other gyms and see how they do things. see you soon

255 for 3 reps (in the warehouse at work, no spotter). 10 lb below PR, but form was much better. Depth was good, and knees were stable.
